In the memorable Larousse edition L'Histoire de France en bandes dessines, first published between 1976-1978 and republished in 2008, the life and times of Marot are of course prominently represented. His employer was the King of France en Marot not only witnessed the events but was (took) part of (in) it.
In vol. 10 the story of the Affaire des placards is told. Marot is mentioned and drawn. The images are reproduced below. In vol. 11 a more general picture is drawn of the early French Reformation (l'Evangelisme) including Lefvre d'Etaple's participation in the Reform of Bisshop Brionnet in the diocese of Meaux. The two images are also reproduced below. Interesting detail: the picture of Meaux Cathedral with the famous Medieval staircase on the third picture (Worth a visit!), also because françois Vatable worked there (he was part of the groupe of Meaux). |
